The first feature exhibit in the Royal Alberta Museum’s new home, Vikings: Beyond the Legend promised to intrigue audiences with hundreds of historic artifacts. The only challenge was that not all artifacts are created equal. It wasn’t exactly relics of raids or guts and swords. So, how do you make discovering everyday Viking objects feel like the thrill of a lifetime?

Transform mundane pieces of daily life into digital Viking tales and deliver all 602 artifacts to phone screens everywhere.

The Insta exhibit might have been a hard sell initially (“You want to do what with the entire exhibit?”). But the counter-intuitive strategy of sharing the entire exhibit before selling a single ticket paid off. On opening day, visitors made like Vikings and stormed the RAM.
