RGD DesignThinkers 2022, Canada’s largest graphic design conference, had gone more than a year without meeting in person. The first post-covid gathering had to reignite imaginations and creativity, and remind designers the power of connecting. Our custom visual language of 50 unique graphic systems challenged this group of innovators and agitators to defy conventions in new, greater ways. And to forge stronger connections and make our theme unforgettable, graphic symbols were split and attendees encouraged to find their missing half.
As keynote speakers incorporated DEFY into their talks, and the new visual language brought the venue to life, each designer knew that to design was to defy convention. To defy the naysayers. Defy everyone. And everything.
